Make sure you are fishing where the fish are. The Humminbird 196 CI Portable Fishfinder has an internal GPS, so you can mark waypoints, see your track, mark your course and get your GPS speed. It has 1,600 watts peak-to-peak power output and a 3.5 in. colour display.

    Q: Can I use this in the ocean? Is there a floating transponder and to what depth is it accurate?

    • A: Yes you can use it in Saltwater. There is not a floating transducer, but the that comes with the unit has a suction cup on it that just attached to any boat. It works up to 600’

    Q: How long does the included battery last ? On a full charge how long will the fish finder run using the supplied battery?

    • A: It should last about 5-6 hours of continuous run time. The current draw from that fish finder is 130mA

    • A: Yes, this product can be connected directly to a 12V battery. You should install an inline fuse holder and a 1 amp fuse to protect the unit.
