Extremely Reliable Fan

This is the third or fourth one we have purchased. Each one has worked flawlessly for a long time. It runs continuously for 12-14 hours per day all winter and 10+/- hours a day in the summer. We simply clean it twice a year, and replace about every three years as a precaution, as it is an economical electrical appliance not intended for long heavy use. It is an excellent buy?

Q: How do I clean this fan?

A: there are 5 obvious screws around the back and 3 hidden ones in the base. The base comes apart with difficulty. The back section of the base looks like it might be hinged, but it isn't. It slides down. Again, with difficulty..
