    Powerful but heavy

    I would have given this vacuum 5/5 but I find it difficult to get up and down stairs as it's heavy and bulky. I do love all the attachments and that it's bagless. However I did manage to dump the entire contents on the floor once by not opening it properly - be careful! What a dusty mess! The ball makes it easy to maneuver around corners.

    This is the best vacuum I've ever owned. Lots of power, I use it on my carpet and hardwood and works awesome. I love how it can pivot in any direction and has no bag. I love that I can see how much I'm picking up in the see through canister.

    This vacuum is not up to Dyson quality. Have had nothing but problems with this machine. I have the Dyson DC43 at home and absolutely love it.... This one however seems cheaply made.(cheaper plastic, and just seems flimsy) Have had to send it back twice to be fixed, and because we sent it back the first time from a business location, (easier for Purolator pickup) They won't cover the warranty the 2nd time. FOR THE SAME PROBLEM that they never fixed the first time. I am so not happy right now. A lot of money to spend on a vacuum, only to have to shell out $200 every couple of months to fix it. Absolutely ridiculous.

    No, I do not recommend this product.

    Great device. We have mostly hardwood floors with some carpet and this unit works great on both. It's pickup power is 2nd to none.

    • A: The DC29 Multi Floor comes with two onboard accessories. One is a combination crevice/brush tool, and the second is stair tool. The DC43 Animal (43-6782) comes with additional accessories including; a mini turbine head, stiff bristle brush, articulating hard floor tool and a groom tool.

    Q: How does the vacuum hold up with dog hair? I have two large dogs that shed quite a bit and was wondering how the dyson vacuum would hold up to it.

    • A: Yes, all Dyson vacuums will hold up very well with dog hair. We also offer the DC51 Animal and DC66 Animal that come with added accessories for dog & pet grooming, but all three models will pick-up dog hair well.

    Q: Is this vacuum suitable for daily use vacuuming carpets with gravel in them? the carpet is swept first, but small particles, dust, and salt remain.

    • A: Hello, Thank you for your interest in Dyson products! The DC29 is suitable for hard floor and carpet cleaning, including small debris such as little pebbles, dust and salt. Of course, the Dyson is not designed to do industrial cleaning, so these kinds of debris should be kept at a minimum. That said, a dirty household entrance with a welcome mat is a great place for a Dyson DC29. Kind Regards,

It features two of our core technologies: (1) root cyclone for no loss of suction and (2) ball technology for superior maneuverability. This machine does not include any added value tools in the box other than the onboard tools. The DC42 at $549.99, represents our mid-level full size upright technology. It features innovations to core technology which includes: (1) radial root cyclone technology for improved dust separation and suction at the cleaner head (2) the latest ball technology for improved maneuverability so it steers right up to edges and into difficult places as well as (3) innovation to the floor tool that features a floating base plate which self-adjusts for optimal contact will all floor surfaces. This machine also includes +$100 in added value tools including: (1) mattress tool (2) Multi angle tool and (3) the stiff bristle brush.
