A: Castrol always recommends following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended grade and API specific to your application. This information can be found in the vehicles owner’s manual or by contacting the manufacturer directly. When deciding on a formulation, you need to take into consideration factors such as, what type of conditions do you drive in? What kind of protection are you looking for? What is the manufacturer recommending? According to Castrol’s lubrication guide recommended for the 2007 Mazda3 4-cyl (non-Turbo model) is 5W-20 motor oil certified by the American Petroleum Institute. Castrol GTX High Mileage 5W-20 meets the requirements of this engine and can be used with confidence.

According to Castrol’s Recommendations Guide recommended for the 2009 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L 4-cyl is the Hyundai SP-III. Castrol Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle ATF and Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF both meet Hyundai SP-III specifications and either of the two fluids may be used in your application.

Q: Hi Guys, Castrol GTX High MileageEngine Oil, 5-L is this a full synthetic oil? My engine oil cap show 5W20 and high mileage my hyundai sonata 2009 limited (i used full synthetic oil) - can i use this type of castrol but shows 5W30? Is it OK to use this?

A: Castrol GTX High Mileage Engine oil is a Synthetic Blend motor oil. Castrol always recommends following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended grade and API specific to your application. This information can be found in the vehicles owner’s manual or by contacting the manufacturer directly.As per Castrol's Lubrication Guide, for a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, you may use either 5W-20 or 5W-30 motor oil. Any of Castrol's formulations in either of these two viscosities would be suitable for use on this engine.

A: At a minimum, motor oil should be changed as recommended by your car owner’s manual or the oil life indicator for the type of service (normal or severe) that the vehicle is being operated under. When motor oil is in use in an engine, motor oil additives will break down as they perform their job.
