Do NOT buy

This was such a waste of money. The instructions were incredibly unhelpful and unclear, I had to do a bunch of research elsewhere to figure out what to do. Plus, the kit was missing pieces, and then the lampshade arm wouldn’t even attach to the latch. I had to basically replace half the items in this kit with items from another lamp to even get it in some semblance of working order. Do not buy!

no instructions on how to remove the socket to the top shell to access where to attach the wires. mine came attached and i couldn't pry it apart

All the needed components were included although the harp did not fit snugly into the lower attachment. Needed some filing to ensure the harp held the lamp shade firmly in position.
Price is comparable to other vendors.

Q: How do you separate the top part of the socket from the bottom socket shell? I am not sure where to attach my wires and I can't get these apart. Help!

A: Good afternoon!! You will notice that your metal socket cover probably has a "crimp" around the diameter of the socket. This is where the top and bottom of the socket cover join and is the place that must be wiggled apart to expose the interior. Sometimes this does stick but most times a wiggling and twisting motion does open the cover. If your socket has a phenolic plastic shell, these many times screw apart.
