Questions
Q: Does the rubber/tech formula go all the way through the tread depth to the wear bars? I ask, as I picked up some Blizzak DMV2 2 years ago and found out later that the rubber/tech compounds are only in the first 55% of the tread.
4 years agoA: I wrote the original question and got an answer from Continental that their compound is blended right through the tire. I picked them up a couple seasons ago and the Viking worked great! My question was because of my experience with Blizzaks, specifically the DMV2 which were the best Winters I’ve had (better than the Viking). That said the special sauce compound is only in the first 55% of the tread. After that it’s still a Winter tire but the Multicell compound that makes them amazing is gone.
