I bought this combo on sale . It now has the "Quantum" brand on it instead of Zebco, but is the same product. I fished with it for a total of about 1 hour before the rod snapped. The reel is built very cheaply, mostly plastic. There are combos available at a comparable price that are much better quality. I am actually glad it broke because after I got it home and checked it out I instantly regretted not getting the Shimano combo at comparable price point. Now I'll return this piece of garbage and get the Shimano.

I bought a couple of these on sale for $22.49. The first time we took them out, one of the reels "broke". The spool apparently flew off with a cast. How could this happen? I didn't see it happen, so I'll give the person using the rod the benefit of the doubt, and thankfully, Canadian Tire did too, and it was a very easy return. 5* for their return policy. The other rod has survived the season, 4 or 5 outings in total, and overall, I'm quite pleased with it. The rod is labelled IM-6, not IM-8 graphite. The reel is smooth and seems to be built pretty solid, except for that one incident. The handle has a nice chrome finish, which also feels good in the hand. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this, for what I paid.

I purchased two of these today and had to return one because the tip was broken. The other one needs to be returned because it broke while i was fishing (rod snapped). The reels are great they are smooth and the reel has no reverse play in it. I purchased these on sale for 22.00. i would not recommend to purchase these at the full price of $89.00.

Looking for a new Reel and Rod Combo i found that one was on sell at 22.90$ So a purchased two. Snap the rod on one of them while putting new line on the reel. I don't see how the price could normally be 89.99$ I'm glad I only paid 22.99$ but hate the fact that i have ti go back tomorrow to exchange one. Your better off with the 34.99$ Total Tackle Combo, Its way more reliable.
