    Decent quality bowie

I've been wondering about purchasing this Bowie knife for quite some time and finally I did it (on sale). First of all let me say it is not a survival knife, it is a good campground or backyard knife for chores. I would use it for light-duty work such as preparing tender for a campfire but not wood splitting by pounding it with a heavy log. People buy a $50 knife and smash it with solid oak logs, throw it at sheets of plywood or use it as a crowbar then complain it broke. I'm a carpenter for over 30 years, use a tool properly and it will last. The blade has a mirror polish (easy to see if it's clean) so you can use it for food preparation, or signaling. Some reviews said it is not a Full Tang Blade perhaps the model they got is different than the one I got because on my knife the metal goes right through the handle. It seems to be a laminate wood handle (like on my other bowies) which makes it very durable. I like the idea that it has a lanyard hole and the sheath even though it may not look high tech or high quality, will last a long time and it has an interior lining and two snaps to hold the knife (very practical, safety feature) and rivets along the seam. It was very sharp, feels nicely balanced, not too heavy. There are times when a good size blade comes in handy and you don't need navy seal milspec and don't want to pay $150 for something you need occasionally. For the price this is a good deal especially if it comes on sale. BTW as an extra bonus no one will complain about your burnt burgers at camp once they see your new kitchen knife.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
