Good solid snow shovel

The vinyl protective strip on the shovelling-edge is a very good feature. The shovel seems sturdy and works well so far.

Check the blade for warping before purchase!

I ran into the store just prior to close and quickly pulled a shovel out of the bin as I was in a rush - that was my undoing. When I got home and used for the first time, I noticed that the nylon wear strip (which is screwed on) didn't sit flush to the rest of the blade - a gap between one of the screws/plastic - which essentially means a warped/rounded blade. I can still clear snow with it, but without a straight edge, don't expect a clean job of it. Overall the rest of the shovel is fine given the price, but the warping is a downer. As I noted, I failed to follow due diligence prior to purchase. While it's possible it warped in-transit after purchase, it's not likely given how I placed it in the car and so I strongly suspect it was like that in store. Just make sure you check the quality. It's a relatively inexpensive item and I wasn't expecting the Cadillac of shovels, but at minimum a straight(er) edge would have been nice. Inspect before you buy!

A great all round snow shovel

This shovel is well designed for digging, scraping and lifting snow , I have had only a few snow falls with the shovel. It worked well moving the wet slop the plow left in the front drive way, as well as scraping the snow off the driveway. The 18 inch size doesn’t make the weight of the load too much to lift. The wear strip will probably not last as long as a metal one but it will take several years to wear out.
