Solid Reel Mower, Good Price

This purchase replaced a similar model Yardworks reel mower that I'd also bought from Canadian Tire about 15 years ago. The functional improvements over the previous model were obvious and this one glides over our lawn smoothly with little resistance and provides a good cut to our varied types of grass. We have a double-wide lot and a fair amount of lawn; this mower makes cutting the lawn about as simple as just walking around the yard. Less effort needed to push than the previous unit and it is similarly solid in construction.

So quiet, and no exhaust stink!

It is ‘reel good’. It’s easy to use. Not too heavy. It makes a nice, square cut. I like the height adjustments. They are simple to change. Is a weed is tall you might have to run over a spot a few times to get it, but you can always snip it yourself.

First of all, it is hard to push on uneven surface also if you scale to the lowest trim it is extremely hard to cut, sometime you have to run over the same spot few times to cut. No bag for this push lawn mower is also a very bad design. Definitely regret buying this.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How do you adjust the height of the blades? I bought my reel mower second hand and it came with no manual. It cuts fine but it's cutting too short I would like to adjust the height so I'm not wrecking the grass.

A: There are two adjustment levers at the bottom of the handle. They have pins in them, there are about 4 different levels. Just readjust the pins equally on both sides.

A: si vous ne l'avez toujours pas, il n'y a pas grand chose a savoir, a part qu'il est important de lublifier les lames apres chaque utilisation (jig-a-loo fait le travail) pour l,ajustement des lame, serrez jusqu'a ce que il y a friction entre les lames et le rebord, vous devriez pouvoir y trancher du papier, mais si les lame sont trop serré, la machine avancera difficillement. assistance yardworks: 1-866-523-5218. demandez-leur le livret pour le produit 60-1526-0. aussi.... http://www.mtdcanada.com/french/model-search.asp pour le livret enligne :)

Q: why will the mower not move forward? there is nothing stuck in the blades, it will spin backwards but will not move forward.

Q: What size is the e-ring holding the wheel? When sharpening, the e-ring tends to disappear when removed. I can get spares from the local hardware store, but need to know the size number.

A: The e-ring is 10.2mm for the leading wheels and 16.5mm for the trailing wheels.
