Yardworks 48V Brushless EZ Load Grass Trimmer, 14-in with 2Ah Battery & Charger

I usually dont give anything a 5 stars rating as rating so 4 stars is a mark I feel means the product works well, has good value and seems like it will last. This trimmer I bought because I have bought several “ gas weed Whackers “ over the years and even when properly drained of gas for the long storage season, they all become difficult or impossible to start the next season. I was pleasantly surprised because I had left a large part of the back yard untouched because my Honda engined Yardworks mower would take a beating trying to mow that area. The “ grass” and other vegetation had grown to over a foot tall and most of it was “thick stemmed “. I was amazed how the Trimmer performed. I couldn’t just charge through but by going slowly it never seemed to struggle. Of course due to the thickness I had to use the “ boost “ power level pretty much the whole time. I managed to get the large area ( about 20 x 30 feet ) patch in the rear yard done, the edge trimming and all the edging in the front yard done before the battery wouldn’t t stay on. It lasted over 30 minutes and a recharge brought the trimmer bsck to full power to complete the last 5 minutes of trimming the next day. For those who are complaining about the battery.run time remember this is a 2Ah battery. You could always buy a second 2Ah battery or a 4, 6 or even an 8 Ah battery. The 2 Ah battery is around $129 while the 8 Ah is over $300??? The charger and 2Ah battery came with the trimmer and I got it on sale. I’ll wait for a sale and maybe get another 2Ah or a 4 or 6 or I will just have to trim the lawn more than once or twice every summer and the one battery can easily handle that.

The biggest reason for poor rating is because the rotation is opposite to any weed eater that I have ever owned. I don't know who's idea this was but it was not a good one.

I just bought this a few days ago. Everything is great. It's much more quiet even with the higher throttle. The string will hopefully not be an ongoing process as when it breaks on both sides, the spool doesn't reset. I gotta dig out the string. As stated, though, Im adding the other equipment to create a set. Future projects would be a way smaller and more efficient charging system. Wayne from PEI

Good trimmer, just no parts. I would stay away from these trimmers. I lost the spring on mine and other than a spool, Canadian Tire doesn’t carry parts.

New item. Fully charged the battery and installed it. The Trimmer did not function. Defective Unit will be returned for a refund.
