Still an Excellent Mower 9 Years Later
Got this mower as a gift 9 years ago and it has worked flawlessly. I have done zero maintenance and it starts first pull almost every time. Mower parts have no rust. Only thing that could be better is a stronger spring on the rear flap but not a big deal.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Capable machine
Cuts through long grass. A beast of a machine. I would not however say it always starts easily. After 10 years of ownership I was prepared to turn it in for a battery powered machine had it not started but low and behold it started yet again this year. Today I am just looking for a replacement blade as I don’t have tools to sharpen the old one. Would recommend.

Longest lasting mower I've ever owned
I bought this mower in 2014 and it finally broke down in August 2019. Looking forward to getting it repaired and lasting a few more years. Engine still works great, just need to replace the height adjustment lever.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Filter compartment

Like the mower but the plastic compartment on the left front of the mower broke so it won't stay closed and keep the filter in place. Can someone tell me how to source a new one.

Good concept, but very poorly executed
I've had a very frustrating experience with this lawnmower in about 3 or 4 years of summer use. I've owned other gas-powered lawnmowers before, none of which have been as bad as this one. This lawnmower has major problems:
1- Engine restart: zero reliability. I simply could not count on the engine restarting (not before at least 5 to 10 minutes of trying, tearing my arm off in the process) after stopping it to empty the bag or to clear the lawn of obstacles or for any other reason. It starts just fine when cold (basically only when started the first time). I have taken it to the repair guy to make adjustments to the automatic choke. This changed absolutely nothing.
2- Rear bag: very inefficient. This lawnmower does a very poor job of making a clean cut possible. It only takes two or three passes over the lawn and the entrance from the blade compartment to the rear bag becomes completely plugged up. This causes lumps of grass to simply fall out of the bottom of the lawnmower and stay behind. It does this regardless of whether the grass is wet or dry, or how long or short it is. I've mowed the same lawn using the same technique for years prior with different lawnmowers, all of which would properly and cleanly pick up all the grass, no matter how long I waited before emptying the bag.
These problems did not develop overtime. They happened during the very first summer of use.

A: Page 12 of the Engine Operator's Manual explains this.
1. Burn off all the fuel to empty the gas tank.
2. Remove the drain plug - which may be on the side just below the fill cap or on the bottom of the engine.
3. After draining the oil, replace the drain plug and securely tighten it.
4.Refill with recommended oil
5. Reinstall the filler cap securely.

Q: What type of oil to use.
This mower was left with the house when I purchased it. It's worked well but I want to maintain it properly. I found the users manual online, but it refers to a separate engine manual for maintenance. What type of oil should I be using in this mower?

A: This model uses 20oz (591 ml) of SAE10W30 lawn mower engine oil. Be careful not to over fill, check the automotive style dipstick for oil level with the engine cool.

Q: How do you reverse with Self propelled
I can't get it to reverse, how do you back up when you're in a tight spot? the Wheels seem to only go forward, they lock and drag if I have to back up with it.

A: Push down on the handle and or release the drive bar, that will enable backing up or turning tightly.

A: It has a 4 year warranty. it is the same as the honda engine. That should say something of the confidence the manufacture has in their product.
I would think.
I bought one with this in mind.
