Poor Lawn Mower
My dad bought me this lawn mower last year for my birthday probably because it was on sale. Terrible! Worked okay at first but after a few months mower began to bog down in thicker grass and struggled to make a clean cut despite sharpening the blade. The mower also doesn't blow the grass hard enough to fill the bag so I'm constantly stopping to dump out 1/4 loads of grass. I just pulled it out a few days ago after its first winter and couldn't get it started to save my life. Junk...

Second Year And Still Running
Pros:
1. Light weight.
2. Starts on first pull.
3. 2nd year and it still works.
4. Mulches well.
5. Very easy to adjust height.
Cons:
1. Very difficult to restart engine if it's been running awhile.
2. Does lose power in thick grass when mulching three inches or lower.
3. Awkward to change the oil. You must tip mower on it's side to drain. Expect spills.
Yes, I recommend this product.

not what i expected
i guess i should have paid a little more attention to the size of the motor, the one i got was seriously under powered, especially for the price. I guess if I bought it at the sale price I wouldn't have brought it back...which was a whole other hassle, apparently if you mow for 5 minutes and decide its junk and wish to return it, they have to send it to a repair shop to make sure nothing is wrong with it to get your money back. Anyway...bought a Different mower from a different store....Canadian tire has gone down hill
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Deal
Before buying I spent a lot of time researching gas lawn mowers on the internet. This Yardworks rated consistently high marks and made my decision so much easier. It starts first time, every time and my wife can start it with very little effort, and with one pull. I'm using the mulcher and it does a great job including long grass or even wet grass. With a 4 year warranty, this is an excellent all-round deal,
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: 2 questions
Q: Starting this lawnmower
I bought one of these a couple of months ago and have used it four times. It is extremely difficult to start. Am I missing something here? I do not see a choke or a primer pump--just the bar on the handle.
1 Answer
A: Depending on the version you received there may be a yellow choke knob located about halfway up the left side of the handle. Pull that out to start then slowly push back in as the engine comes up to speed. If no choke knob, you have an 'autochoke' model. Use fresh, stabilized unleaded gas. Start with the mower on level ground (sidewalk, driveway), pull the recoil rope out just a little until you feel it engage the starter. Take two steps pushing the mower forward, then pull back the recoil as the weight of the mower moves forward - this method is effective for starting all types of gas lawnmowers.
