They should call it the HERCULISE

I bought this 20 inches Yardwords electric snow thrower 2 years ago. Love it, easy to assemble, easy to maneouver. I used for small snow fall, but today after this huges snow storm we got there was over 20 inches of snow and it work like a charm, I had to go up and down with it to be able to to remove all the snow but it did more than was promise. I am a 72 year old lady and let me tell everyone should have one at their home, whether young or old it would clear you a path that's for sure, the clearing I did today is about 15 feet by 20. I wish I would of had someone here to take a picture. It's just incredible how this little machine is so strong. Now if only they could add a coil rod onto the side to help to keep the extension away from the snowblower it would by marvelous.j

If the switch would work every time....

I bought this 11 months ago. It does a great job .... when the switch works. I have had it fixed 2 times....poor design causes it part of switch to not stay in its track. I liked that it was lightweight and did the job...i have 100 ft of driveway and jave had back surgery. Id like it more if it would start each snowfall

Doesn't like Canadian winters it seems.

Throws snow as it should and easy enough to use but the design of the upper collar (that's what i am calling it) is dumb. Snow and slush clog up the mechanism and the collar cracked in its first winter. Why is Yardworks using plastic parts against metal parts? Cheaper to make and cheaper to sell. I now have to twist my chute manually. Just plain dumb.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Hello Peter
On occasion and when the right conditions occur the chute may freeze, it happens.
There are different types of ice and snow repellent that can be used to help with this issue, try Dupont or Teflon.
Regarding the rod, please try the following, rotate chute by hand 180 degrees, push the rod firmly into keyhole, then try rotating handle rod.
If this does not resolve the issue please call our toll free number 1-866-523-5218 or email us on csr@sunrisetools.ca to speak with one of our customer service representative.
We can do some troubleshooting with you and place an order for any required replacement parts. GreenworksTools

    Awesome Electric Snow Thrower

I have had mine since 2008, I use it for the Deck Only and only when I cannot shovel because there is far to much snow. It can easily cut through 8" to 10" of new snow and throw it over the handrail. Recently I caught the Impeller on a corner of the deck and the plastic end of it broke. I called Sunrise Global Marketing INC at 1-877-888-3872, they sold me a complete "Impeller Assembly", item #31118100, it arrived a few days later and today I installed. The Pulley Nut was 23 mm and is left hand thread, it was very tight, it took two guys to break it loose. Also the new Impeller Assembly is no longer Plastic, it is Steel now, this should hold up much better.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Love this snow thrower

I purchased this approximately 5 years ago. I purchased it because I have a bad lower back and this is quite lightweight. We just had a snow storm today and the snow had to be 8-10 inches in my driveway....I was not looking forward to cleaning it. I took out my snow thrower and it literally cleaned the whole driveway (like a bigger blower). It took me 1 1/2 hours because of its size but who cares as long as it does the job. I would definitely purchase this little power blower again.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Q: Is it power driven?

    3 Answers
    • A: I think these small electric versions have rubber paddles that pull the blower forward when they make contact with the ground. The wheels are not connected to the motor though.

    • A: The impeller/auger brackets have been redesigned to steel since 2011 and have been excellent in terms of quality.

Q: Bought this used/second hand to use at our new house, but the builder hasn't finished our driveway yet, so it is just loose gravel and screening. Are there slide shoes or something available to raise the chute up a bit to prevent gravel from being thrown?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello Thorn, This is a YardWorks 40v single stage snow thrower unit and is not ideal to operate this on loose gravel. We advise against using the snow thrower on gravel because the gravel, stones or any loose surface material will be picked up and thrown by the snow thrower, causing damage to the unit and possibly nearby property and people. This unit is designed for paved surface areas such as driveways and sidewalks. Thank you.
