Product Details

The WORX Landroid S is here to give larger lawn owners their weekends back. It comes with a robust 2.0Ah high-capacity Power Share battery and a wider 7-in. cutting width to mow up to a 1/8 acre. You’ll never have to cut your lawn again once you set up your Landroid. Just place the charging base, lay the boundary wire around the perimeter of your lawn and secure it with pegs, and finish setup on the handy Landroid App. You can even control Landroid and schedule mowing times from the App, without ever getting off your couch. It’s packed with cutting-edge tech to ensure it does a good job and leaves you with a lawn you can be proud of. The patented AIA (Artificial Intelligence Algorithm) allows it to navigate narrow passages with ease (something other robotic mowers have trouble with). And its Floating Blade Disc automatically raises the blades when Landroid encounters uneven terrain, so it doesn’t get trapped or stuck. Plus, it’s powered by a high-efficiency brushless motor that runs 50% longer, is 25% more powerful, and offers 10% longer life compared to mowers with brushed motors. The Landroid S is the next generation of robotic lawn mowers, with more performance and functionality to take on bigger yards.

Good Idea, but not there yet.

This mower really annoys me! I live with a small garden on a slight slope, and often during the summer I am away for four or five days in a row, back for a day and then off again, and when I am at base I usually need to work very long days, so I was looking for a lawn mower that would cut the lawn for me. Sadly, every time I go away, within hours I get a message on my phone “Mower trapped” “Mower lifted” “Mower Outside Boundary” or whatever those silly messages are. So while I am away the lawn doesn’t get cut. The setting up of the mower in the first instance was a real pain. My garden is completely fenced so I was hoping just to let this machine go; but no, you have to put a wire around the edge of the property. I did this, carefully pinning the wire down (even bought extra pins to hold it down), but then the mower, with its cheap, hard plastic wheels, would catch the wire and raise it slightly, so next time passed the mower would cut the wire. Not good and another error message. After this happened a number of times I spent absolutely ages going around burying the wire so this wouldn’t occur - what a hassle! Next the mower started digging trenches in the lawn (okay, perhaps not ‘trenches’, but muddy indentations devoid of grass). It can be quite wet here on the coast, and again those cheap hard plastic wheels don’t give, so they chew up the lawn along the edge of the property (I will try to include a picture). This happened where the mower would meet any resistance, like a slope or touching the fence. Then the wheel of the mower gets stuck in these muddy patches it has made… and another error message and another few days that the lawn isn’t cut. So I tried moving the wire out from the fence to make absolutely sure that the mower never hit the fence at any point - remember, the wire is now buried, so this was not an easy task. So instead of mowing the lawn once a week I now have to go out and trim all around the property because the grass is long around the entire border - not what I had hoped for. Tonight I came home and the mower was yet again stuck, so I freed it and went to restart it, but it said it was raining so wouldn’t restart, thus I ended up carrying the stupid, muddy, grass covered weight back to its base. I have had to do this so many times! I should add that the parts of the lawn it does cut it cuts nicely. I think my lawn is now greener than it was a year ago because of all the very small pieces of grass that have mulched back into the ground, and of course, not a dandelion to be seen. So the idea is really good, and if it worked with any consistency, then I would give it five stars. So would I recommend it? Let me put it this way, a good few years ago I bought an automatic vacuum cleaner for the house, one of those small round ones that goes and vacuums while one is out. I hated that too as it never got around without getting stuck somewhere. Then last year I updated to the latest model that has all sorts of new technology in it, and it is fantastic - just what the concept had promised. It very rarely gets stuck and it looks like it is intelligently programmed. And I think this was partly why I bought this lawn mower, hoping it would be similarly smart… but it isn’t. So my advice is three fold: firstly, wait a couple of years and I am sure that they will have produced mowers like this that actually work. They will have distance sensors rather than the ridiculous wire system that this one has. Secondly, go for the best quality one that you can afford. The cheap wheels on this really let it down. If it had soft rubber on its wheels I am sure it would do much better, but this is a cheap machine and it works like a cheap machine. And lastly, if you do get one of these stupid, brainless, annoying devices, make sure you have the ability to take a deep breath, to count to ten, to go to your happy place and not to get upset every time you interact with it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor working, poor design. Buy a husqvarna instead

I bought this hoping i had found the goldilocks robomower, not to expensive but still functional. After investing dozens of hours installing and troubleshooting, i am extremely disappointed in this product. Its main problem is that it is RWD and front heavy. As soon as it pitches down any slight incline nose first, it loses traction and gets stuck,. Just log onto the landroid subreddit. I had to put a 5lb weight in the back to counterwieght, which did help. But it still gets stuck every day. Meanwhile my neighbor with a husqvarna says his gets stuck once a month. Its close to being great, but the simple fact is it gets stuck every day, and if it gets stuck it is not mowing. Robomowers are supposed to save you time. This needs a complete overhaul, one of the most disappointing putchases of my life.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought a Landroid 165 W over two years ago. The first two seasons it did reasonably well but got stuck intermittently. This year it gets stuck all of the lawn. It seems to have much less power than previous. It seems to get stuck very easily to the point that it is pretty much useless at cutting the lawn. Also the need to carry it back to the base every time it gets stuck is incredibly inconvenient. Despite my early excitement and success I can no longer recommend this product as it should work for at least 4 seasons.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Effort free lawn-mowing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of my favorite ever purchases. No more time and energy spent mowing the grass - instead it's trimmed automatically, a little each day, which is also better for a healthy lawn. The one-time initial setup is easy to do and well worth it - after that, you can sit back and just get a notification on your phone when he's going out and returning to base (although it's fun to watch). He'll even handle delays due to rain, and you can configure multiple zones to be mowed (e.g. front and back lawn). A genuine time-saver that frees up your time to spend on other things.

Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work a lot , and when I’m off usually it’s a fight to have the weather right to mow. After the initial set up and a week of tweaking and modifying, and filling in holes I can honestly say this thing is amazing. The only things I would change would be to add a bit more of weight over the rear wheels for better traction, to have at least 8.0 ah batteries because it does drain quickly, as well as knowing how much boundary wire you will need, all in all I am very impressed with the entry level mower, and will likely keep upgrading as newer models arrive , the app for iOS could use a bit of tweaking and polishing though

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How much of a slope can this cut? We have a hill which is hard to cut.

Q: Could I use a landroid in a 40’x40’ fenced in area without installing a boundary wire? There’s a swing set also if that matters. Thanks!
