WORX WG119 5.5A Electric String Grass Trimmer/Edger, 15-in

$99.99

Product Details

Full of quality-of-life features and easy to use, the 15” – 5.5-Amp Electric Grass Trimmer/Edger from Worx leaves lawns looking sharp and users free of fatigue. It’s only 6 lbs, so almost anyone can pick it up and help with the yard work. And with an adjustable handle and telescoping shaft, it can be made to fit landscape artists of all sizes. The automatic feed dual-line system dispenses the right amount of string when you need it, out of two exit points, doubling the coverage compared to some other trimmers. And let’s talk about that line for a second. It’s our patented DoubleHelix DNALINE2, with 100 lbs of tensile strength. It’s designed to withstand breakage, and the aerodynamic oval shape cuts through the air and the grass, reducing drag. The 0.065” diameter is the same gauge that professional landscaping crews use on their grass trimmers, so you’ll get professional-grade results. This model has a 15” cutting diameter. That’s large enough to make smooth, even passes, but narrow enough so that you can still get in-between trees and shrubs without much problem. But the real reason this string trimmer is such a value is because it’s also an edger. Just rotate the shaft and the head turns on its side so that you can cut crisp, long lines along driveways and curbs.

  • WORX 5.5A Electric Grass Trimmer features an adjustable handle for maximum comfort while operating

  • Telescopic handle that adjusts to user's height and posture

  • 180 degree rotating shaft quickly converts trimmer to edger

  • Pivoting head adjusts to desired cutting angle for numerous jobs around the yard

  • Dual line auto-feed mechanism

  • Recommended extension cord: NOMA Medium-Duty Garden Cord (SKU: 052-2394)

  • Weight: 7 lbs (3.3 kg)

  • Cutting swath: 15" (38 cm)

  • Replacement trim line spool: WORX Electric Trimmer Replacement Spool (CT# 060-2190, sold separately)

Effective!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this to review. It was easy to use and had some power to it. My husband loves how slim it is to store. It did its job and left no room for complaints.

Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not the most top of the line, but it gets the job done. Not saying it's low quality at all, great mid line item. We have a small yard so the electric version was just fine. Nice not dealing with gas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this to do some trimming before having company over and it worked great! It has lots of power for the size and weight and is very efficient. It easily coverts from a trimmer to an edger to double as 2 great tools in one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, worx generally seems to make great products but this one knocks it out of the park. It's easy to handle and makes a very efficient cut. This is a must have in your shed.

Questions

1 - 10 of 15 Questions

Q: The WORX WG119 manual says it uses an automatic line feed that advances line each time you start (trigger) it. Does it really do that each time you move around the yard and stop then restart it? If so, any way to stop that besides keeping it running?

  • A: Thank you for your question. Yes, line will come out each time you hold down onto the trigger to start. This trimmer does not have a way for this feature to not happen when you power the trimmer on.

Q: Can I rewind the spool myself? What grade/size is the string?

Q: Is there a way to stop the automatic feeding of the spool? I find it is using up way too much (we are going through at least one spool each time we cut our lawn) - very costly and not environmental to have small plastic string pieces all over my garden!!

  • A: Hello there. Thank you for your question. There is no way to stop the trimmer from auto-feeding the line. Every time the trimmer comes to a complete stop, and you restart, the unit will feed the correct amount of line. To help with the conditions of your trimmer line, We recommend storing the spools in a cool, dry place. The spool line is made of biodegradable material, so it quickly breaks down without impacting the environment. This makes the spools of the line very delicate, and in extreme weather situations, the line will begin to melt and fuse together. To combat this, the spools of line can be unwound and rewound to ensure that the line will properly feed when placed in the grass trimmer. Q: Instead of using string can you attach any other cutting head. I found in the past that the spools become very costly to replace and if you self string it the line often sticks.

  • A: Hello there. No, you can not attach a different cutting head to this trimmer, it only takes a spool line.

Q: This weighs 6 pounds. Is that heavier or lighter than the WG116? I have had the WG116 for years, and I love that it is very light and easy to maneuver. The only reason that I am thinking of replacing it is that the string holes are wearing out.
