WORX WA0860 Landroid Anti-Collision System for Robotic Mower

$349.99

Product Details

The Landroid Anti-Collision System, or ACS, is like a pair of glasses for your Landroid. Now it’ll be able to spot obstacles and lawn features up to 8 inches away, and 5 inches high, and steer to avoid them, instead of running into them. That means it’ll mow faster and do a more efficient job of mowing your lawn. See, without ACS, every time Landroid bumps into something that can knock it off its game, it has to recalculate where it is in your yard. That’s just how most robotic lawn mowers work. But when you pop on the ACS, Landroid can dodge bushes and child toys and stay on course to keep your yard neat and tidy. It uses automotive-grade anti-collision technology to pull this off. You know, the same kind of sensors that warn you when another car is in your blind spot. That keeps Landroid from scuffing its paint, but more importantly, it also minimizes damage to the structures around your yard. Everybody wins when Landroid uses the Anti-Collision System. Robot mowers are premium devices. Give yours all the tools it needs to perform as well as it can, so you can spend your weekend relaxing with the confidence that Landroid will make the lawn look nice, all by itself.

  • WORX Landroid Anti Collision System detects obstacles ahead of your Landroid for effortless steering

  • Uses ultrasonic detection to sense and navigate around obstacles other robotic mowers would bump into

  • Helps Landroid navigate without collisions to prevent damage to trees, outdoor furniture and other objects in your yard

  • Obstacle avoidance allows Landroid to better maintain your lawn without interrupting its algorithm

  • Easy to install, simply screws to the top of your Landroid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the 2nd best upgrade I’ve made on my Landroid, the first was a bigger battery . The Landroid is the best thing I’ve ever purchased

Sometimes ACS

It works sometimes, but often it will still bumps into things. Especially when performing a reverse movement due to getting stuck, it basically ignores and keeps turn/reversing and then moving forward straight into objects. So even with ACS the landroid can not be used with my chairs on the lawn

No, I do not recommend this product.

Simply DOES NOT WORK

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have extensive footage of this NOT working at all. It runs into almost everything and out of about 230 times it bumps into things.. I have THREE that it avoided properly. It has hit ME, storage sheds, cones, 27 gallon totes, sleeping dog, scared cat, 55 gallon drum, 5 gallon buckets, chairs, chaise, concrete blocks, and more. It always hits me no matter how many times I have tried to stand in front of it (at any distance). It has gone around a few objects that I don't count to it's 3 successes as it overcorrected and the back wheel struck the item! I love the mower (5 stars) but this ACS is infuriatingly expensive for something that fails 95% of the time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works sometimes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works when it wants to. Sometimes it will go around a tall patch of grass that you actually want to cut, other times it runs into an object and just keeps spinning the wheels until it digs so deep it gets stuck in its own ruts or it dies. Usually the digging til stuck thing.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: With the LANDROID ANTI-COLLISION SYSTEM Item WA0860 if my yard is fully fenced in with a 4 foot high chain link fence, will boundary wire still required?

Originally posted on worx.com

  • A: Hello there! Thank you for your question. Boundary wire will be required for any Landroid unit that utilizes boundary wire. We may recommend looking at the Landroid Vision robotic mower options for a mower that does not use boundary wire.

Q: Can small flower be avoided with the ACS system??

  • A: Hello there! Thank you for your question! ACS operates on SONAR a single plant it will not recognize, a bed of flowers that is at least 12 inches more than likely it will recognize.

Q: Hello, are there any plans to update the phone app/firmware such that it will allow us to control the sensitivity for which the ACS module detects objects?

Q: Is the ACS compatible with the WR 147?

Originally posted on worx.com

  • A: Yes, the ACS is compatible with the WR147 and that series. The only accessory that is not, is the original Off Limits. We have a new, 2 sensor version, WA0892, for the newest Landroids.

Q: Hello, How does the ACS interact with the boundary when it’s cutting near the edge on the boundary wire?  Also when it is returning home on the boundary wire?

Originally posted on worx.com

1 Answer
  • A: The ACS will only detect items that are at least 5” tall. If there is nothing like that on its path to the wire, it will not affect how it behaves along the boundary. When the Landroid is traveling over the wire to return to the base to recharge, the ACS is turned off to avoid any issues that could prevent it from going back to charge.

Q: Is there a difference between the silver and black versions of ACS? I see what looks like 2 different models.

Originally posted on worx.com

  • A: Great question! Given the less refractive surface of the black ACS, it improves the reception of the signal from objects that need to be avoided.

Q: Is the ACS being retired or replaced with a newer version? Most shops in Denmark don't carry the item anymore.

Q: In my yard of tall fescue grass there are a few bare spots which I've tried to fill in but its difficult to identify all of the areas. In these bare spots, Landroid's front wheels appear to hit the grass and think it's an object to avoid. Will this help?

Originally posted on worx.com

  • A: Thank you for your question. No, it will not help since the Anti-collision system is for objects that are from 5 to 12 inches of the ground. The off-limits system may work better.
