30 000 btu in the woods

Great purchase. Quick set up and portable to chef a 5 star meal at home or out in the bush

Great stove, but….

Very impressive, solid stove. I love the fact that it is solid steel, not aluminum, and that the gas supply lines are short, shielded, and simple compared to Coleman products. The complex copper tubing in my last, very expensive Coleman did not last 2 years. My only complaint, no where in the Woods manual do they mention that you need to add a AA battery to the starter to get it to function, which caused me a couple of hours of frustration before a YouTube video solved the problem for me. Including a AA battery with the stove would be another obvious solution.

Woods 2 Burner Camp Stove

Well-built and sturdy with proper foot plates that keep the legs from sinking into soft materials. Fast to boil water which is great for a corn-on-the-cob fest at camp and in the backyard. Carry bag makes it easy to transport and store when not in use. High BTU output makes simmering a bit of a challenge, but manageable.

Q: How many BTU for each burner individually?

2 Answers
  • A: Works pretty good, the info isn't telling the exact facts! This stove is 30,000 btus per burner, for a total of 60,000 btus and I tried warming my room off of one burner.I had bought a 100lb tank, and it consumed 25 % over the night. I woke up gasping for air! But I was also sick at the time,I wondered if it was carbon monoxide poisoning, but my grandad used to heat his kitchen with a gas stove so can't say for sure! I had to buy an additional hose and adapter to fit the 100lb tank,as the supplied hose is too short only reaches a 20lb tank right under it! The legs come off and it's not too heavy they have set screws.the wind break needs a better way to attach it to stove, it comes off too ez! As for heating up water, gets it done fast, but if it boils over, the water tends to get into the burner and I found it had put out the fire! The igniter requires a AAA battery. Works good, but since I had used it last winter,I had to sand off the area where it hits the steel burner. No regrets buying this, and it comes in a fancy zippered carry bag! If you plan on doing extended camping, or cooking a lot,it does gobble up the propane so be prepared to buy lots! Beats the Coleman cook stove for reliability! But it's a bit clunky to haul around!

Q: Can I use a griddle with this if I use both burners set at the same heat level

2 Answers
  • A: I have cooked bacon and eggs using a cast iron pan. This thing gets hot fast so keep a close eye on your heat level. I use it mostly for boiling water for corn. A griddle will work, just keep an eye on the heat settings.

Q: My cottage is hooked up to a pig tank and I have an outdoor quick connect for my bbq, can I hook up this stove to this quick connection like I do my bbq?

  • A: If it runs your bbq don’t see why it would work with burners as long as you have the right hose to connect with.

Q: Can it connect to regular 20lb propane tank?

2 Answers
  • A: It uses a 20lb cylinder right out of the box. Says so in the manual and looking at the hose it comes with it's pretty obvious. Not sure what stove Canadian Tire is referring to.
