big zapper has limited life

i had this bug zapper for 2 summers and inspite that there's a solar panel, iy works with a blue battery that is not meant tobe treplaced. It seem the Company doesn't want the cosummer to keep it for too long.

Bouht this for the backyard patio and it was easy to set up. Out of the box - let charge in the sun andcome dusk the blue light started to glow. Great! except after now 6 weks of sitting on my patio - THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A MOSKITO OR OTHER BUG ZAPPED! We had a bunch of neighbors over one evening on the patio until 1am and the moskitos were out and the lamp did nothing to attract them and never zapped one. We all had to put on bug spray. Don't know if this one was defective or that the solar couldn't create a stong enough charge. Maybe buy one that takes batteries or plugs in?

Don't waste your money

This product does not work whatsoever. Had it setup outside for an entire week to collect sunlight, not once did it show any sign of life.

Q: Should zapper be set ON or OFF while charging?

A: It will charge regardless of the switch being set to on our off as long as it is in sunlight. While the product is set to ON an automatic sensor turns on the UV light on in the dark and turns off during sunlight hours.
