The sheltered entrance and vestibule protects gear and boots from the rain.

Nice little tent

Took this tent solo hiking to Grey Owl cabin Waskesiu national park Prince Albert. Tent allows for nice cool breeze at night. Lots or room for 1 person. Also nice to have the covered entrance.

Flimsy aluminum poles

Warning: Do not purchase this tent. Aluminum tent pole snapped in half on the 2nd use. I bought this tent as a “front country” option to explore lakes while canoe camping in Algonquin Park. Initial impressions were good and I used it for a my first overnight trip. Setup was quick with the support poles being together as one single unit. They’re aluminum and come together with shock cord in the middle. The fly attaches quickly using plastic clips (beware in colder weather). As mentioned at the beginning of my review, the critical shortcoming is the weak aluminum poles. One snapped clean in half while assembling the tent. I’ve never seen anything happen like this before. Luckily I had duck tape and could use two tent pegs as a splint to render the pole useful again. Not impressed whatsoever with this tent. I understand it is an affordable brand and could accept some issues. However, had I not of been able to splint the pole, I would have been without a shelter. Worse so, the sharp edge when it snapped could cause a nasty cut in the tent or yourself.

No, I do not recommend this product.
