Tried this bag for my wife's first back country camping trip. She had an awful time - but the bag had nothing to do with it! Great features and carriage for a budget pack, highly recommend to new or intermediate backpackers. Did not test waterproofing but I always put a contractor bag inside any pack. One criticism - the height adjustment on the shoulder straps could have a sturdier lock, but tie a knot where you like it.

Great beginner backpack. I’ve take it out fully loaded once, and it didn’t let me down. There isn’t any documentation about how to adjust the straps or otherwise use the backpack, so do some research online to better understand how to pack/hoist/carry the backpack

Excellent and functional

I have bought the more expensive brands in the past, and this was just as functional, sturdy and served the purpose just as well. I was quite surprised. It does need a separate water proof cover, but most backpacks do. But i give it 5 stars. Its carries a lot.

A: I did not test it on big rain fall, but I would not trust any backpack to be completely waterproof. I have bought a real waterproof contour cover that I put over my bag. It's small and compact and 100% waterproof.
