Q: Is the product safe to put on a pair of work coveralls? What wax is used in the product?

A: There is no wax in it. I would not use it on clothing , it is meant for tent canvase. One has silicon i it , and the other doesnt.

A: I do not believe this is the right product. This is for a canvas tarp, not a poly tarp. There is a product specifically made for poly tarps which is what Shelter Loguc uses on their structures.

Q: Can this be used on boat canvas?

A: I just used this product on my burgundy coloured, canvas boat cover and had no issues with the colour running, fading, etc. I put two coats on and during the last rainfall, the water on the canvas beaded just as it was supposed to. Overall, I am very impressed and will be purchasing more of this product to waterproof several other large green canvas tarps.

A: Je vous remercie pour cette enquête. Une fois que l'imperméabilisant pour toile a été appliqué à la surface du tissu et qu'il a complètement séché pendant 24 heures, il devrait constituer une barrière invisible et hydrofuge pour le matériau. Q: Can this be used on a polyester tent? I have used it in the past on my gazebo cover and it worked great on that.

A: Thank you for the inquiry. While the Canvas Waterproofing is designed for canvas-like materials it can be used on other fabrics. For a polyester tent it should in most cases offer good water repellency. However, you will need to reapply as the protection bonds will break down as the tent is folded and packed each time. First, we recommend that you review the tent manufacturer's instructions with regards to care, cleaning and adding additional protection. As this product is a solvent based liquid, it can sometime damage the protective layer on the material if one was placed there by the manufacturer. Also, please note for porous fabrics, this product may not offer complete waterproofing when it come to heavy and more intense rainfalls.

Q: Once the treated canvas is dry, will it be flammable?

A: Thank you for the inquiry. Once the canvas is dry after application, the material will not be any more flammable that is was before. However, please note the canvas itself may be flammable in it's natural state as a fabric material.

Q: Is this safe to use on a PE tarp-like tent bottom? I want to provide extra waterproofing to the bottom of a tent that has a polyethylene (I think) tarp-like material for the floor. Is this the proper sealant to use, or should I be using the silicon based product?

A: As both the Canvas Waterproofing and Silicone Waterproofing are solvent based, they are designed to be used on and waterproof fabric materials. It may not be compatible with some PE materials. If the base is a PE, then as a plastic sheet, it should be fully waterproof already (unless there are holes in it). In fact, the waterproofing liquid, because the material is PE, may only sit on the surface and not offer any additional protection. For the base, we would suggest an extra drop sheet if additional protection is required.
