Air Frame Tent

the main comment of all the other reviewers about this taking a really long time to set up is true. it's also very heavy and very difficult to pack away. I am 6 ft 2 in tall and I can stand up in the center of the tent on my tippy toes. I love this tent it's extremely durable it's survived every rain storm wind storm that's been thrown at it. I've owned it for 2 years and I'm thinking of replacing it with another one the airframe design is so Superior to poles again you just inflated it pops into place then secure it stake it with your 20 steaks the steaks that come with the tent are not very good I recommend buying the woods upgrade with the thick tent stakes and they're really long so they hold they secure the tent much better to the ground than the ones that come with it. I camped out 9 months of the year for 30 to 60 days at a time. I find this tent incredibly spacious as I am just one the vestibule I can park my bike and trailer while the inside of the tent still has room for me and all my cooking equipment heaters etc. I am very disappointed that it's been discontinued. I also own the two Men shelter version it just made a horrible tent because it didn't come with a fly. I highly recommend this tent for a family of three if you're four you might want to get something bigger. I also recommend you buy the woods branded waterproofer and waterproof all the seams to avoid leakage. I also highly recommend that you maintain the temp properly to increase its longevity as they are discontinued and don't make them anymore. like I said far superior to tents requiring polls.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good tent if you get it at a good price

This tent packs into a big hockey gear sized bag so it takes a lot of space packed up. Also it’s set up footprint is much bigger than a typical 4 person dome tent so keep that in mind. The dimensions written on the bag are really wrong. According to the diagram I should have been able to inflate a queen and two single air mattresses (it shows 4 persons in a 5.5M wide area. Queen mattress is 2M and singles are each 1M.) Once set up with a queen air mattress in it, you have a couple feet of space left at the door. Takes a long time to set up. You first inflate a car port shell with dirt floor then drag the dome tent inside and hang it from the air frame beams and drive 20 pegs into the ground. That all said, once set up and you accept that it’s fine for 2 on a mattress or 2 adults and possibly 2 children all on small bed rolls, it’s a sturdy tent that will keep you dry and comfortable. The front vestibule is awesome to keep some gear in or stand up and get changed in. The dome tent is several inches away from touching the air frame (fly) so rain won’t touch the tent. Been using this tent for a couple years and kinda have a love/hate relationship. It’s big, time consuming to set up but once it’s up, it works great as a palace for two people with gear.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I hope you have a degree in physics...

Because you’re going to need it to figure out how to put this tent up & pack it away. If the instructions were clear, this review would be much higher. However, it took my son (who is getting a degree in physics) & I over an hour to figure out how to put it up. There are 2 large parts of this tent and the smaller portion isn’t even on the instructions at all. Plus it didn’t fit 2 air mattresses so my mattress overlapped my son’s & therefore I slept wonky at night. That being said, it survived 2 pretty good storms with wind and everything stayed dry.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Big tent - doesn't pack away nicely.

This tent is great. It makes a big difference when you are camping for more than a night or two to be able to stand up in this tent. The extra space for gear in the front and back is perfect for gear or even just to provide shade or a dry space for firewood. The instructions confused me the first time I set it up but that is only because I have never set up an air tent, you set up the shell first and the interior tent which you sleep in is clipped in after. I love all the guy lines and how far the shell can be from the tent - you certainly would never get wet in a rainstorm. The only real downside is the size of the tent once it is packed away - it is huge. It is really only usable for car camping - but it is also 25lbs so definitely no one is going to carry it in more than a few hundred metres anyway. Overall, perfect for 4 adults, or 2 adults plus kids and pets. There is no lack of space here.

A Unique 4 Person Tent

I bought this recently and set it up. I have owned a lot of tents. It took a while the first time, is a little awkward, would be a challenge in a big wind, and is no quicker than most tents. But its inflatable! So thats cool. The tent is described as a 4 person tent not a giant family tent. The 18 feet is from the end of one vesitibule to the other. There is a nice front vestibule. that is about 8 feet long. the back is about two feet for shoes or maybe a cooler. I would put a tarp down in the front area and use as a seating/storage area. The main sleeping tent attaches to the blow up frame (that really acts more as a frame and rainfly). The interior tent is about 8'x8'. Good for maybe three or four people but not a big family tent but good enough for one queen air bed and a little room to spare. Good summer camping tent I would say. Good workout inflating by hand as the last couple PSI require a little extra strength. Attaching the inside tent to the frame might be difficult for anyone less than 5'8" without a step stool. I have one of those big 15x9 family tents that pops up easily and has 8' ceiling height and I dislike it because it's way too cavernous. This will be a fun alternative. I like it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 9 of 9 Questions

Q: I have the tent frame, and as another user here stated it comes with a floor. Mine doesn’t seem to have it. Was there a separate bag for the floor? Or is the floor in the grey tubes Velcroed in?

3 Answers
  • A: There are two parts to the tent inner and outer. The inner tent has a floor which is staked down first in step one. The outer part has the inflatable frame and no floor.

  • A: Oh yes not to worry. But I did practise putting up and down a couple of times. The picture always looks logical. But do a practise set-up. Once you get the hang of it, it's an awesome tent.
