Shame on CT for selling this

I bought 2 of them at a very cheap price, I should have known there would be issues. Both were returns that I could not link to my account because they’d already been linked to other accounts. Wasted 2 hours on hold to find out they couldn’t unlink them. Certainly CT knew this issue existed and this is why they put them on sale for so cheap.

Remote Trail Cam -Specific Usage Case

A few surprises with the setup. The back of the box is overly simplified so I ended up returning it. Seemed a good idea but it does not add to any existing data plan you may have. Instead one must subscribe to their plan. Plan price was reasonable for the annual, but requires setting up an account with them too. Then the unit didn’t connect since it needs a memory SIM card not to mention batteries. I’m sure it would have worked fine had I had the SIM card. My usage case was to simply turn it on when I wanted to check on our horse. Not record every motion on a SIM card. Suppose I need a baby monitor. So really the fail was due to their skimpy writeup which did not describe the requirement of a 1) 2 Gig SIM (minimum) and 2) joining/paying their connection fee.

Q: Do you need a cell phone plan and card for the camera? How does it work using cell service? How is the product picture quality?

A: No, but you do need a plan from the manufacturer. $5/month for 250 pictures. Picture quality is quite good.
