    Product Details

This Whirlpool 30,000 Grain Water Softener removes up to 95 grains per gallon of hardness minerals to help prevent build-up of calcium and magnesium deposits throughout your home. The 6th Sense technology monitors your water usage habits and regenerates the resin at optimal times to minimize salt and water consumption. An integrated monitor alerts you when the system needs salt or if there are any issues. The high-flow valve provides great water flow with minimal pressure drop so you'll barely notice a difference, but your dishes, fixtures and appliances will benefit from softer water that's easier on them.

    • Ideal for households of 1 to 4 people with its 30,000 grain capacity

    • Multi-purpose system is designed to reduce up to 95 gpg hardness minerals and 8 ppm clear water (ferrous) iron

    • Built-in system monitor indicates whether the softener is operating properly and when it’s time to add additional salt

    • Included installation kit contains custom fit bypass valve that connects up to 1-inch copper, PEX or CPVC piping for a DIY installation

    • High-flow valve provides great water flow with minimal pressure drop throughout your home

    • Whirlpool Water Softeners are NSF certified to reduce hard water symptoms around your house, such as embarrassing stains, build-up on your faucets and spotting on dishes

    • Innovative single-tank design

    • Dimensions: L 20½" x W 15" x H 48" (L 52 cm x W 38 cm x H 122 cm)

    • Whirlpool Water Softener Cleanser (062-2012) maintains your water softener’s peak performance and helps remove harmful depots from the resin bed, valve and system

    • Purchase three bottles of Whirlpool Water Softener Cleanser (item 062-2012) per year and extend your Whirlpool Water Softener full-coverage parts and labor warranty for an additional year, up to five years. See owner’s manual for details.

The water softener has been working great. Dishes are cleaner and no "spots" coming out of the dishwasher and my skin is less "dry" after showering

This should be a review for the 40000 grain water softener. I have connected this up 11 days ago and have not seen the soft water that my previous softener provided, before the digital screen failed. My old one was a Kenmore 44000 grain unit. Maybe that why, maybe this one will improve after another regeneration.

had it for two weeks hose is too weak and had to cut top a little to eliminate kink. No date for refill either.

We bought this a couple of months ago and so far so good. Impressed so far on the quantity of salt used compared to our old softener.

Q: what maintenance is involved with this unit ?

    3 Answers
    • A: Whirlpool water softeners require little maintenance, mainly adding salt and periodically using Whirlpool Water Softener Cleanser. If your water contains significant rust or sediment, some additional cleaning of the softener's nozzle & venturi may also be necessary. Q: Hi, will I get soft water from cold water tap immediately after regeneration? Or do the resin beads need say an hour or two to "remove" minerals from the new water in the resin tank after regeneration? Thanks.

    • A: Not sure if immediate, but most likely you will notice your shower water softer. Good way of telling. Running the unit for a couple of months. Works well. I still run a separate bottle carbon filter before the water softener. removes heavier hard water material. Saves on filters!!!. Also I make wine. Best not use water thru softener, so I installed a separate line after bottle filter and before softener.. Wine likes natural minerals!! Another note: If your area is heavy with iron, I used a SAND FILTER(tight screen with bottom tap to clear) as a first step . That all worked for me. Personal opinion

Q: I don’t believe my softener is functioning. The salt level NEVER decreases no matter how I alter the settings. It’s so confusing to me. My house still has hard water stains. So I know the softener is not functioning. What am I doing wrong here?

    • A: Make sure your bypass valve is in the right position and to verify that turn water on in your house and see if you have on the screen some water drop going by the right corner of the screen to confirm the flow

    • A: Salt water brine. It’s the mineral deposits built up and removed by the salt water flush.
