I received a Weber Traveler grill as a gift approximately 6 months ago. I have only a few regrets in this life and specifically requesting this grill as a gift is FAR from any of them. Disclaimer: I am not nor do I aspire to be a “master griller” in the Instagram sense of things. Instead, I am satisfied with being able to grill absolutely anything I am curious to eat (that can be grilled); in any form, seasoning, or season. The last of which I am intending to write about now.
I live just outside Madison, Wisconsin, USA. While this is surely not the coldest climate any reader of this review is likely to live in, I would wager it is colder than MANY readers’ climates. Today, for example, the outdoor temp at the time of dinner was 11 degrees (felt like 3 degrees after wind chill); which provided the perfect conditions to field test my Weber Traveler.
Longer story shorter, this grill was FANTASTIC. At tonight's temp I easily maintained the grill at 400deg F with the gas dial approximately 3/4 open. Note1: This is a better outcome than several first dates I’ve been on, which occurred in much more favorable conditions.
Note2: I have the adapter to connect a full size propane tank to the grill, but I doubt that matters.
Summarized: Do you love grilling? Are you living in an area/condo/apt/campsite/rest area that limits the size of your grill? Then this product is the ONE for you.
Is it the cheapest option you can find? Unlikely. Is it the one you will enjoy the most? Almost certainly. (feel free to refer to the aforementioned dating advice). Make of that what you will. I hope this helps you in your decision.
