Q: Can this product be used to lubricate shift cables on a snowblower?

A: For this application, the WD-40 Specialist Water Resistant Silicone Lubricant, 311g (038-1586-2) would be recommended. It has a quick drying formula, which leaves a clear, non-staining film without stickiness or messy residue, and protects against rust. It is safe to use on all metal and non-metal surfaces, and is safe for temperature ranges between -73°C to 260°C. It is ideal for this purpose, as you can use it on cables, pulleys, guide rails, valves, linkages, hinges, locks and more. The WD-40 Bike Wet Bike Chain Lubricant is designed specifically for use on bike chains when you want to maintain lubrication while riding in wet, or muddy conditions.
