Product Details

Get your grill or barbecue heated up faster with the Vermont Castings Charcoal Chimney. No lighter fluid is needed when operating this chimney starter. Constructed from rust-resistant stainless steel, this chimney is designed to withstand the elements while creating a contained, clean charcoal BBQ experience. The dual handle design makes pouring lit charcoal easy. Simply place the chimney starter on your barbecue cooking surface, then fill it with lump charcoal before lighting.

  • The Vermont Castings Charcoal Chimney speeds up the time needed to heat up charcoal

  • No lighter fluid needed

  • Made with rust-resistant steel construction to withstand the elements

  • Dual handle design for ease of use when pouring lit charcoal

  • Allows for a contained, clean charcoal BBQ experience

  • Recommended Usage: Place the Vermont Castings Charcoal Chimney on your barbecue cooking grates and fill with lump charcoal or briquettes. Light from underneath with newspaper or a charcoal starter. (Note: Due to high heat, paint may peel during the lighting process. Once the charcoal is evenly lit, as signalled by a grey/white colour, pour into the cook box of your barbecue.

  • Large heart shield protects the handle from extreme temperatures

  • Two-handle design and pour spout for added control

Burn Hazard!!!

As well built and heavy duty as it is, the two circular steel plugs at the top and bottom of the wooden handle become red hot and are a vicious burn hazard. It has happened multiple times and as careful as you try to be, when you are pouring out the coals you are bound to rotate your hand onto the top plug. Will be looking for an alternative.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great tool to get the coals started. I would highly reccomend this if you need to get your coals going to bbq. Coals heat pretty evenly and are ready to put in your grill to start cooking in no time at all.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Paint peeling off ?! Hey, I started using it yesterday. After couple minutes, the PAINT started to go away and fall everywhere. What exactly is contained in this paint to start with and WHY would you make this. Do you do any TESTING with your products

1 Answer
  • A: Due to high heat, paint may peel during the lighting process. Before cooking, be sure to give your cooking grates a quick brush to remove any excess debris. The paint is eco-friendly and non-toxic.
