This thing is a champ!

This thing is a champ! I've had wood heat forever and this stove is AWESOME! Yes the first burn will cure the paint and probably fill your house with unwanted smoke. Open a couple windows. It's a new stove, deal with it. Get over the first burn and it rocks! It's a secondary burn tube stove not a catalytic and it will heat your home perfectly. I can literally shut it down with vents and go back 10 hours later and still have coals to start a new fire with dry wood. Buy this stove you will not be disappointed...

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not functional in a tree story house in the lower level.

This woodstove is not design for a 3 story house. We purchased this woodstove to replace a smaller one. Both woodstoves where installed professional with certificate. We expected this woodstove to work smokeless and effient. It's installed on the lower level which is half in the ground, not fully to be called a basement, and two stories on top. Once we started the fire we tried everything recommended to get the fire going. However, unless we keep the door slightly open, the fire wouldn't even burn. It didn't get enough draft from the outside to burn even the paper without smoke. I red a review on Youtube and the guy said that he had problems too the same way when the stove was new. Once the wood is burning and the stove is hot, it works. You can only feed the new wood logs when the old ones are almost burned down. It's getting a wrong draft all the time and there is not enough draft from the bottom to feed the fire when the fire is started. We open the windows and doors to the outside to get a good fire started. and even now, after one year, the problem is still consistent. This stove is too air tight and will not support a higher chimney on a three story house. It may work fine on a bungalow style house. I wish I could replace it with my old conestoga wood stove I used to have 30 years ago.

We are sorry to hear of any dissatisfaction that you have had with your stove.
a.) Draft is the number one contributor to how well your stove is going to burn. Your chimney is what drives this draft. If it is too short, or not made with the correct material or somehow not installed properly, it has a drastic impact on how well your stove performs. This can lead to the fire only staying lit if the feed door is open, smoking, blackened glass, and other issues if the chimney isn’t providing sufficient draft. Newer EPA certified stoves require a substantial amount of draft than older non-regulated stoves. You cannot compare how an old stove performed with how a new stove performs on the same installation.
b.) The type of wood, quality of wood, and wood moisture are also integral in the performance of the stove. Wood should be seasoned properly with a moisture content between 15% and 20% (please note that surface moisture may be less than the internal moisture content so we recommend splitting the wood before checking the moisture content). Wood that has too high of a moisture content can lead to difficulty maintaining a fire, excessive smoking, and creosote production. USSC
