I have a large deep frypan whose lid fell and broke so I stopped using it. This lid fits perfectly and is partial glass with a steam exit hole. I was so happy to find it, price is good. The lid also fits many size pots.

Q: It is concave. How deep does the center goes inside the pan? Could the handle be put on the other side of the lid to make it convex instead of concave?

A: The lid has “steps” in it such that it sits within the diameter of the pot upon which it is placed. This is done to ensure a secure fit. The lid should not be used “upside down” for this reason as the lid would not be secure in its placement on the pot. How deep the lid sits “inside” of the pot/pan depends on the diameter of the pan it is sitting on. The larger the diameter of the pot/pan, the wider “step” of the lid that comes in to play and the deeper the lid sits.
