I bought this last month and the Umbra Starfish Silicon Hair Catcher is great. The hair sits on top of the devise and can be easily disposed. My previous hair catchers allow the hair to enter the mesh area and it's sometimes very hard to get rid of the hair

I bought this for our bathtub and for our shower drain. För the bathtub, I just removed the plug and then put the starfish instead. It works really well and catches all hairs. I’ve tried multiple other solutions as it’s really annoying having to clean the drain every month (all women in my family have long hair) so this is a lifesaver. Overall, great design, easy to clean and looks stylish compared with other similar solutions. Also, I feel like it will last a long time since it’s made of silicone.

Q: Does this fit over pop-up bathtub drains without removing the plug? I'm having a very hard time getting the tub plug out, so am trying to find a hair catcher that will fit over it, instead.

A: Probably. The hair catcher has five suction cup. I'm using mine in a shower stall. Works great. BTW the pop-up plug can be unscrewed, I believe.
