    Q: Will this be able to hold a microwave (say 20-30 lbs) on a floating shelf (about 24" L x 24" W x 1" H) if the 8" side was attached to the wall and the 12" side of the bracket was attached to the top of the floating shelf rather than underneath it?

    • A: A top mount shifts the strain of the weight against the quality of the screws rather than the weight recommendations of the bracket. A microwave is active load. The weight of the casserole and the door opening and closing will eventually disappoint.
