didn't last long

pepper mill worked on day one but didn't last very long. I bought a "Keg" pepper shaker full of pepper from the grocery store and it has been far superior. Maybe nothing named Trudeau works very well.

Q: Can you use regular salt in the mill set, dont need a grinder for the salt.

A: I bought a total of 6 of these (three sets) specifically for grinding the large "chunks" of salt from the Peruvian "Salt Mines of Maras". The output is smaller flakes of salt, but bigger than table salt grains, and very little goes a long way. I put salt in all the grinders, and gifted the extras. I wonder if regular salt would be ground to a finer powder, and go even further, or possibly leak through the grinder mechanism and leave salt on the counter top or table, which can damage the finish. Not sure, I never tried. You could possibly use one for everyday boring black pepper for cooking and one for more colourful mixed-peppercorns for company. Just a thought.
