Thompson's® WaterSeal® Advanced Multi-Surface Waterproofer, One Coat, 3.78-L/1-Gallon

I initially used this product on our covered front porch and thought it was great. It was easy to apply, the (Cedar) colour was nice and it beaded well when the rain blew in. I liked it so much that I bought several more jugs and decided to tackle my 1500sq/ft back deck. In the late summer/early fall of 2021, I meticulously cleaned the deck boards with a pressure washer and a brush, and applied the product with a sponge, working in small areas and back brushing with a paint brush. It took weeks of waiting for the right sunlight and the right temperature to get it done - and hours and hours on my hands and knees painstakingly making sure that it was applied thinly and evenly per the instructions. Initially, it looked beautiful and we recieved lots of compliments - however, after just one winter, the product has peeled from almost all areas of the deck exposed to sun and snow. You can see this clearly in the photo I took of where my gazebo protected the deck from the elements. It looks horrible. I will now have to sand my entire deck and start all over. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

Excellent product for water proofing your deck or fence

I've use all sorts of sealants before but I think Thompson's is for sure one of the better ones out there and the price is RIGHT

Ive bought three jugs of this product to revive my old deck. I love its easy application and the honey gold colour. Ive used it on my deck and garden boxes. After one year it still looks great. do not leave it in the cold garage over the winter! one jug was solidified and ruined by leaving it out in the cold

The product went on easily and seemed to be coating the deck nicely. Of course the real test is what it looks like a year from now, but I'm hopeful, and time will tell.
