Tamper resistant means it can be a little harder to plug into but the 2 things go hand in hand for safety. Small inconvenience for the benefit.

These are used in new construction. Tamper resistant means that little Jimmy can’t stab a butter knife into the socket. Don’t buy other cheap brands such as “home line” unless you want a fire hazard.

great for new installation and to replace worn out plugs. These seem well made and I used 6 so far. I may replace some of the older plugs as these work well. These are made for 14/2 wire
