I paired this auger with my 24V cordless drill and I was drilling through 14" of ice in seconds!!! I was blown away at how fast it cut through the ice. It is a game changer. I bought it brand new and used it right out of the box. The blades were plenty sharp. The ice literally flew up out of the hole as I drilled. I would recommend it to anyone. A cheaper and more efficient set up than a gas auger.

Q: Which replacement blades should be used? Does brand matter, or does the pitch vary brand to brand?

A: I only just started using the auger this winter and works great. I'm not sure about replacement blades, but it's highly likely the only replacement blades that'll fit the auger's bolt dimensions will be the original parts. I mentioned to my friend, if the blades never hit obstructions, cutting clean ice always, the edge should last for multiple seasons, and I doubt replacement blades are that expensive from the supplier.

Q: Can the "Woods Universal Ice Auger Adapter" be used with this model swede bore 6". It looks like it is screwed together? Can the adapter slide down inside this auger?

A: Hi, yes the woods adaptor will work with the 6 inch and the 8 inch Swede bore augurs. The adaptor connects using the same screw pin as the augur handle. It works very well but I would recommend adding some thing to keep the augur from falling through the hole if it came loose from your drill. I personally modified a plastic frisbee - low tech but does the job...

Q: What replacement blades will fit this auger? Canadian tire doesn't carry swede bore blades. Will rapala? Or woods fit?
