A: Dear Maddy, if you haven't changed the initial password, try the code 0000. If you've already changed the initial password and want to reset it, you need to unlock it first. However, if the lock can't be opened, the password can't be reset. Here are the steps to reset the password: 1. Unlock the lock using the factory-set combination; line up 0000 with the dashes on the lock-housing. 2. Pull the cable out from the lock-housing. 3. Hold lock-housing with open end facing you. 4. Turn the outer metal ring clockwise until it stops. 5. Set the dials to the four numbers that you desire. The dials move half position and that means to change a number. The dial should be moved twice to move the next or previous number. 6. Rotate the ring counter-clockwise until it stops. Take care to not move any of the dials while you are moving the ring. 7. Insert the cable back into the lock-housing. 8. At this point check the combination that is lined up with the dashes. This is the combination that has been set and may vary from the one you intended if you accidentally moved the dials during the procedure. 9. Turn the dials to scramble the numbers in order to secure the lock.

A: 1. This lock has a resettable combination feature that can be repeated as often as you like. 2. Unlock the lock using the factory-set combination; line up 0000 with the dashes on the lock-housing. 3. Pull the cable out from the lock-housing. 4. Hold lock-housing to open with end facing you. 5. Turn the outer metal ring clockwise until it stops. 6. Set the dials to the four numbers that you desire. Write them down and do not forget them. 7. Rotate the ring counter-clockwise until it stops. Take care to not move any of the dials while you are moving the ring. 8. Insert the cable back into the lock-housing. 9. At this point, check the combination that is lined up with the dashes. This is the combination that has been set and may vary from the one you intended if you accidentally moved the dials during the procedure. 10. Turn the dials to scramble the numbers in order to secure the lock.
