Overpriced and Poor Quality – Not a Real Mountain

I bought the Supercycle mountain bike from Canadian Tire last summer for $450, and honestly, it's way overpriced for what you get. Gear issues – It won’t stay in 7th gear. Every time I shift up, it just drops back down to 5th. I’ve tried adjusting the derailleur and cables, but nothing fixes it. Back brake pad screws fall out – I’ve already lost 3 screws from the rear brake pads. I recovered 2, but 1 is still missing. That’s a major safety concern. Handlebars twist during jumps – Even after tightening them properly, the handlebars twist every time I do a jump or hit rough terrain. What’s the point of a “mountain bike” if it can’t handle basic trail riding or jumps? For $450, I expected something much more reliable. This bike feels cheaply made and isn't holding up at all. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a true mountain bike.

Looks great but is a death trap

We got this for our son's 13th birthday on the 16th of Jun 2024 from the Canadian Tire location on 401 & Islington. We were told right away that 30 days warranty if anything brakes and no return or exchange. It cost us $291 tax incl. The bike looked sturdy, solid with fat tyres. Our son rode it well for total of 8 times including our trip to camp. While riding on the residential street, suddenly the gear piece came off while riding. He was lucky that it was not on busy road. I am very disappointed with this bike.

    Poor bike

Bought this bike last year to ride with the kids, Rear derailer busted off first thing this year. No idea how or who can fix or where do go. I would suggest not purchaseing this bike, Shimano gear sticker means nothing.

Two flat tires within 4 days of purchase

Clearly a defective product which CanadianTire knew about. Hence this is the reason they discountinued the product. I am thinking of filing a lawsuit because of their knowledge of defects. When I purchased the bike, they tire blew while it was being transported from the back of the store to the register. I needed to wait several days for their technician to fix the issue. Then when I finally got to take the bike home, the front tire started to come off it's rim because the tube started to swell...its about to pop and get a flat. I then started reading the reviews to see similar situations of flat tires. Shame on CanadianTire as they do not honor returns. I would at least like to have replacement tire tubes because clearly the one that came from the manufacturer are defective and prone to flats and swelling.
