no service

picked up the bike. upon inspection found multiple loose spokes one stripped spoke and two stripped ends. bike returned nearly 60km round trip I had to pay for then pay to have it picked up when fixed. Now the rear tire is worse and I can't afford to pay more than the cost of the bike to get it to where it should have been day one. not entirely surprised as my van this store "repaired" is still sitting in my driveway not functioning due to thier repairs. so now I am stuck with a usless brand new bike I have to buy a wheel for.

Great Ride

I bought this bike over 1 year ago now, and it holds up. It’s been through almost 2 summers of use, I ride around 10km a day each summer, sometimes in parks, mostly on pavement. The ride is still very quiet, and can handle high speed riding (around 20-35 kmh). The gears are mostly good as they shift easily, except for up shifting from gear 6 to 7, but I am sure the gear system needs a tune up. I’ve seen all the negative reviews regarding this bike, and I’ve been worried about my bike, but nothing major really happened. I guess it comes down to the assembly process and who’s doing it and how well they are doing it. Assembling the gear and drive train poorly will result in immediate problems. So when purchasing this bike, make sure to spot anything wrong on your bike before the 30 day tune up period. Overall great beginner bike, as the suspension also seems to hold up

Yes, I recommend this product.

Poor quality, definitely don't pay full price.

Have had this for a year, first ride the pedal backed out and came off badly scraping up my leg. Took some work to repair the threads and loctite it back in. Have had to tighten bolts over the year (loctite as i go) since whatever kid assembled this did such a poor job. Now after having only a dozen rides on this bike the rear wheel bearing is blown and the pedal bearing has play in it. Called for repair and was offered replacement. Returning this bike for something else. Avoid!

It's okay ...

I bought this bike back on April 21 while it was on sale and while it started off good it slowly got worse. To start the rear brake was very soft and didn't stop well so I had to tighten it myself. The front brakes are excellent. The gear gaurd is made of plastic and has a physical bend in it. While it doesn't impact the function of the bike it's still an eye sore. And after just 2.5 weeks of owning it the cable to change gears on the rear derailleur busted because it was missing a critical plastic bit to add tension to the cable. While shifting gears the cable literally pulled itself through one of the eye holes on the frame because of the missing piece. I took the bike in for warranty repair and they did fix it, however it now has a hard time shifting into the highest gear (so 7th). I have to drop down to 4th and then slam it into 7th to get it to go. Sometimes if I'm lucky it will go into 7th from 6th or even 5th but it's rare. It looks like the shifter on the derailleur moves enough to get into 7th but it's off by just a hair. Clearly the bike techs don't actually ride your bike as a test because if you get off the bike and use your hands to pedal and then shift, it seems to shift better. I don't know who these bike techs are but i feel like they don't pay enough attention to really tune these things in. Otherwise the bike does have a very comfortable ride since it's dual suspension but other than that this bike is nothing special. Next time I'll spend more and get a better bike and I'll also go to a proper bike shop. I only have a week left for a free tuneup but I feel like I'll get better service at a place that specializes in bikes. Save your money and buy a different bike from a proper shop.

Questions

Q: Does the front and rear light brightens at night or they're just for aesthetics?

1 Answer
  • A: There are no lights on this bike, only CPSC reflectors. They will shine only when light is on them directly for safety.

Q: Is this bike size suitable for ladies? Height 5' 6"

1 Answer
  • A: Its fine for women, but you are right at the lower end of the height range. A 27.5" might be more suitable, but it depends on the frame design. The best option is for you to size the bike in store.

Q: How do I choose the best size of bicycle for me

1 Answer
  • A: The best place to start is figuring out what kind of riding you will be doing. Road? Paved trails? Dirt trails? Once you think through that, look at bikes in this categories to decide what size and frame style is most comfortable for you.
