Q: Will this fit two standard size garbage cans? Trying to stop the critters from getting at the garbage
8 years agoA: No, this box is less than 2 feet in height.

Q: would this keep mice, ants or spiders out ? I'm not storing food but Christmas decorations in a garage and don't want critters chewing on the wrapping paper.
6 years agoA: This deck box does not have an airtight seal around the lid and while water (E.G. rain) will not get in, it is possible that smaller things such as ants or spiders could enter. There is no entry point where mice could get in.

Q: What is the bottom made of? and how sturdy is it?
9 years agoA: The floor is made of reinforced polyethylene. If the item is stationary and will not be moved, you can place a significant amount of weight, such as fully loaded with bricks, into the unit. However, should you try to move the unit containing a great deal of weight, you would likely experience separation or cracking in the connections of the box.

Q: does this box have built in ventilation?
9 years agoA: The deck boxes all have a certain degree of ventilation due to the fact there is no gasket between the lid and body that would make the deck boxes airtight. However, there are no vents that ensure significant ventilation, and we recommend not keeping the deck box in areas of extreme heat.

Q: Would cushions be safe from mice?
9 years agoA: The highest probability of a mouse getting into a deck box would be if someone left the lid in the open position for a period of time. However, that does not preclude the possibility of an industrious mouse eating its way through a single wall deck box such as the 60-0174. While it would likely be more motivated by food than a cushion to try to eat through plastic, we cannot make a claim that our deck boxes are "mice proof".

Q: Can you store wood in this deck box (we are planning on putting it in our basement rec room)? How much weight capacity for the wood storage?
9 years agoA: Deck boxes are not recommended to be used as a wood box. However, this unit would work without weight being a concern, provided it is never moved with the wood inside it.
