As the name suggests, the Sun Dolphin Journey 10 SS fishing kayak is built for anglers who see fishing as more than just catching fish—it’s about enjoying the entire experience. An excellent 10 ft. vessel for rivers, shallow bays, and narrow channels where the big fish lurk. It is designed for stability while casting and reeling as well as maneuverability and tracking on water so you can easily get through rugged shorelines, around stumps, and to those secluded fishing spots. The sit-on-top design features a large, comfortable seating area with an open cockpit, padded seat back, and adjustable foot braces to accommodate paddlers of all sizes. There are multiple storage compartments for all your gear including a Portable Accessory Carrier.

I was excited when I bought this kayak, but my excitement turned into deception once I loaded the kayak on the roof of my car and became frustration once I put it o water. First, the material is clumsy and scratches easily, worse if you try to hold it tidy, it will bent. Not safe to carry. When in the water, it is difficult to paddle, the seat is not comfortable, not stable, the hooks don't hold the elastic bands properly and it is always snap when you try to hold a gear in it. Don't even think to paddle by any rock because any contact will cause scratches on it. I just came from a fishing trip and am on my way to Canadian Tire to return it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The great deception

I just came from a fishing trip and am on my way to Canadian Tire to return it. If CT is selling these low quality kayaks they shouldn't be charging more than $200 for this. FYI, I have a Pelican (not a fishing kayak) that is 9 years old and it is sturdy as a rock, easy to paddle, stable and made to last.

Fantastic still after 2 years

Great for fishing on a budget. Have had it for two years and its still just as good as when I bought it. The only issue I have is the seat is uncomfortable without something to sit on and after a few hours fishing your back starts to hurt quite a bit but otherwise for the price I couldn't ask for anything better.

Great starter fishing kayak

Very good for the price! Saw some reviews about water leaking in from the drain holes on the bottom and some other stuff, but the manufacturer seems to have fixed all that. I’m very happy with this guy, its stable and easy to get out and fish with.
