Q: Will this travel down into a 1/16-1/32 crack without hanging up like water? This is in a retaining wall and I could tape the sides. 6 1/2 in wide.

  • A: As this is a thicker than water liquid, I doubt it. I use it to repair thicker, wider driveway cracks. I has noticed on hotter days of application, the product is thinner, but I doubt it would get thinner than water.

Q: Will this color match exposed aggregate driveways?

2 Answers
  • A: I dont know. The gray color dries to a cured concrete color but you can definitely see the repair in the smooth finish on an indoor concrete floor. I assume an exposed aggregate would be more forgiving, and would perhaps weather the color a bit over time. If it comes in other colors, perhaps they could be blended? I wish I could attach a picture for you.

Q: Why is the same demonstrative video for all the filling/sealing products?

1 Answer
  • A: The video is meant to provide overall direction on filling/sealing products and how to use them. Some products do not have videos directly for that product.

Q: Foundation Crack Found a small crack in the corner of our foundation which is causing some water problems during rainy days. Looking for an economical solution. Can Stone Mason seal this? Is there an easy to use injection product on the market? The crack is completely exposed from the inside.

1 Answer
  • A: Foundation cracks can be repaired from the inside as long as the person doing the repair is prepared to follow instructions and will prepare the area as follows: A) Open the crack to a minimum width of 19mm (3/4”) and depth of 38 mm (11/2”). Square-cut the edges of the crack - DO NOT cut a V-shape. B) Dampen the crack. Mix a small quantity of U-Plug or Instant Waterstop, mix no more material than can be applied in 3 minutes. Beginning at the bottom, install the U-Plug applying downward pressure. Always apply new product against set material. Continue installing until crack is filled to within 19mm of surface. Allow material to harden. Install a bead of good quality sealant into the crack. Allow to set and them install a topping of U-Plug bringing the surface flush with the surrounding wall surface. There are injection materials for stopping water, however, they are not easy to install. The installation requires drilling holes approximately 30 mm (12”) apart along the length of the crack. Then injection ports are inserted into the holes and an epoxy gel is applied to secure the ports. The surface of the crack is the sealed and the injection process is commenced. Following the mixing of component “A” into component “B” until a uniform colour is achieved. The material is injected into the lowest port until material begins to flow through the port above. Then the material is injected through the second port until the material begins to flow through the port above. This process is repeated until the material has filled the entire length of the crack.
