Q: can this safely be used for food storage?

A: Depends on the vermin. Rats can chew through many things. Mice, not so much. Raccoons are smart and can open things with out latches. Is it in an outside area? Bears can tear through most hard surfaces. There are many variables and no guarantees in life.

A: I would recommend putting your clothes in a vacuum sealed bag first. These bins are not air tight.

A: Thank you for your question. Sterilite manufactures products for general household storage use, using only high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. We do not necessarily recommend it for holding hot water.

A: Thank you for your question. The inside dimensions of the Sterilite 14L ClearView Latch Box are 36.5 cm L x 23.1 cm W x 15.5 cm H. The overall assembled dimensions are 43.2cm x 28.3 cm x16.5 cm.

A: The 1753 is manufactured out of the same clarified polypropylene that our food storage items are made of so items are dishwasher safe , though it is recommended that items be washed in the top rack of dishwasher.
