Q: Is it compatable with a Samsung Galaxy S8? If not what specific phones does it work with?

A: Yes. Have the memory card in the reader before you plug it in, usb memory storage will pop up, open it and go to dcim files to see your pics.

A: The card reader itself does not display photos or play videos. It is simply an adapter that mechanically and electrically connects the card to another device. In order to play videos, your phone or tablet or computer must be running software that can open the type of video files stored on the card.

A: If you are asking if the “Android On The Go Memory Card Reader” has a battery, the answer is it does not need one. The card reader plugs into the viewing device, ANDROID phone or USB (CPU) which powers the device. The way the product works is your phone or computer is the viewing device and power supply. You take the SD card from your Camera, insert it into the memory card reader. Plug the memory card reader into your viewing device (phone or cpu) and that device powers the reader and shows the pictures. There is no “VIEWER” on the device.
