    Instructions are bad

Got the SR1020 for our tent trailer with pre-installed rails. The hardware screws with the roof rack are too short. You’ll need to get 8 m6 30mm screws. This guys YouTube was very handy: https://youtu.be/tCEzkDf88Wg?si=7vwR7mY5C3gTeenF

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Decent product, horrible instructions.

Hard to judge these racks for a good rating. Once installed I'd say they are reasonably good and would give them a 4 star...BUT you have to get them installed. The instructions are an absolute joke and I mean epically bad instructions. I called their help line to get some help and the guy admitted they are terrible and he himself would be beyond frustrated trying to install them. I will give the instructions a zero.

    Instruction? What instructions?

Absolutely the worst instruction on the planet. Thankfully I managed to figure it out no problem. If you don't have mechanical aptitude don't buy it. Posts and pieces are shown going together with the wrong parts etc... This issue is well known but Sportback does zero to correct the issue. Otherwise the product is great.

    Unsafe design

Loaded with four bikes, the rails slid 6 inches and came out of the brackets on one side after hitting a sizeable pothole in downtown. The brackets could not have been torqued tighter and was shy of stripping. Why is there not a design or instruction to place a pin/bolt within the brackets and the bar itself? Imagine that happening on the highway or hitting a pedestrian.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Worst instructions or no instructions

The instructions tell you the rack goes on top of the trailer. That is it. Not indication of which screws go where and there are different sets of screws/bolts for different configurations. Worst instructions I have ever seen. The makers of Sport Rack should be embarrassed!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can this rack be mounted on a truck cap?

    2 Answers
    • A: It will. You would need to cut off the excess that overhangs the width of the truck. But with the ability to clamp the crossbar anywhere it will work. Just installed on my truck cap this.

    • A: No, this roof rack system is only compatible with pop-up tent trailers. Regrettably, SportRack does not offer a roof rack system for a 2016 Mitubishi RVR. For this fitment, you will require a custom-fit roof rack system.
