Q: Does this kayak rack fit on the built-in crossbars that come with a 2022 Subaru Outback?
3 years agoA: I’m not 100% sure, I used mine on a 2022 RAV 4 built-in. It has different parts to accommodate at least 2 different styles of sport racks, so you should be safe.

Q: Are the tie downs that go around the kayak enough to secure it or you tou have to run the tie downs over the hood and rear as well?
4 years agoA: I (personally) tie down to the front and back too. Picked up some hood/trunk tie-downs at the same time of this purchase from Canadian Tire. My dual kayak is 14ft so I wanted to secure it properly.

4 years agoA: If I understand your question correctly, emphatically no. Both j brackets are needed to secure one kayak effectively and safely. Two kayaks require purchasing two boxes.
