Wheel Axel and hub caps are terrible!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the 2nd hoop I have bought. My 1st hoop I bought over 10 years ago. I would have given a rating of 5 stars, but for the same issue I have now. Your wheel axel and wheel caps are of the same quality of over 10 years ago, and are absolutely terrible!!! If you move the basket hoop and have to move the wheel base left or right, the wheel pushes against the wheel cap, forcing the wheel cap and the wheel to come off the axel!!!! Come on now!!! A simple bolt, 2 washers and a nut, would fix this issue immediately!!! Where is the quality assurance on this product over the last 10 years?

Difficult Assembly, but nice hoop performance.

Let me start by saying I had a handyman come help me out because it’s legit a 2 person job, maybe at times 3 people. It took us about 5 hours to assemble it. That included a lot of time spent adding sand. Regarding the sand, it is near impossible to get 700 lbs of sand in there. I’d love to know who has and how. Once we reached a bit over 450 it became very difficult since they only give one opening per base container to fill. Probably good for water to have one hole, but bad for sand. Additionally, the front wheels that you use to move the hoop around on your driveway was very poorly constructed. The caps are not an adequate way to hold the wheels on the axle and we had one fall off twice. We ended up drilling holes through the axle to attach a permanent solution. At this price point, the front axle and wheels should be assembled at the factory or provided with better parts so it does not fall off.

Great Product

I'm seeing several bad reviews on this product, which I find surprising because I've own mine for 2 years, through some nasty Midwest weather, and it's been amazing! This hoop system is TOUGH, high quality, and although it's expensive, it's worth every penny if your son/daughter is a highly competitive player who will use it regularly. I highly recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome hoop! Kids have been outside almost everyday. I watched a couple YouTube videos prior to installing it which definitely helped. I would like to see Spalding do a step by step video

Q: What is the height of the unit when fully lowered (base to top of backboard)?

A: The height is about 10.5 feet. The basket lowers to 7.5 feet, and then add 3 feet for the width of the backboard.

A: There is no waitlist. The supplier ships out of Quebec and due to the laws in place in this province, they have been forced to shut down likely until May 4th. Due to the ongoing changes with the pandemic, we do not have a date on when they can start shipping again.
