Q: I’m concerned that when I should the ball will bounce off the base that seems to stick Out as per the comment someone made. Is this an issue?

A: It does bounce back. I bought the “back atcha” device but though it’s suggested by Spalding it doesn’t actually fit their own hoop. If you try to install it as instructed doesn’t work as it is too tilted and ball gets stuck in netting. I had to use Zap Straps to hang it from rim but then it’s less stable and flops more.

Q: What options are there. When the acrylic backboard breaks?

A: I have this net and the acrylic is nearly twice as thick in the arena view model as standard acrylic backboards. Unless you play basketball with rocks or dunk like shaq you should be just fine. Multiple neighbors have polycarbonate backboards that are “indestructible” but 3+ years of UV exposure have caused them all to become brittle and break apart with use.

Internal crank to adjust height detached

I bought it because of “easy assembly”. Took more than 30 mins but was fine. However the internal crank mechanism to adjust height on mine failed (it detached while my son was adjusting height). So now it’s stuck at 10 feet. Can’t repair it because it’s the part that came pre-assembled (not the external handle that you attach) Spalding had to send me the whole new base/pole subassembly, but now I have to figure out how to remove the backboard when it’s set at maximum height, and how to dispose of old base/pole when set at 10 feet

Excellent product better than other LE options. It is a worth of investment. Plastic at the front is better than other basketball systems. It due take around an hour so assemble but that is ok.

Super study , really good quality , doesn’t shake

Just set this system up , it’s pretty easy , aside from my son holding the back board up while I attach it , I did it alone ,took about 45-1 hour , put 6 bags of play sand in the base , this unit is super sturdy blew way past any expectation I had
