Success with initial compound or polish in clear coat paint clarification

I’m just a guy in my garage, not a professional. These sonax pads are my “go to” first step cutting, correction and clarifying pads. If this one is not aggressive enough, use the red ones! These pads stand up well and get the job done in my experiences so far. They helped me resolve med scratches, and initial clarifying scratches and swirls very well. I have found I will typically polish twice, first polish is this pad, second polish I go with a softer pad and work the details more with the softer pads than this one.
