Returned sodastream canister for a deposit refund

Last week at the Coq store I wanted to return a sodastream canister and get my deposit back. The woman at Customer Service said it was an exchange program. No refunds. You bring the canister in and you buy a new one. She kept repeating this like I was stupid. I told her I had returned a canister for deposit at the PoCo store last year. Again the same line was repeated back to me. Today I went to the PoCo store and got my deposit refund. Thank you PoCo! You made it too easy!

Furthermore, although many retailers have decided to stop the cylinder exchange program, there are many retailers that are still participating in the program. - A: A core charge, sometimes called a casting charge, is a form of deposit you pay on the canister to encourage customers to return these to be recycled properly. If it is the first time you are purchasing a canister, it will be subject to the $16.00 core charge. If you later exchange the cylinder, the core charge will be subtracted from the subtotal. If you are returning the empty canister without making a new purchase, a $1.00 fee will be refunded.6 years agoHelpful?

- A: I just tried this at my local CT, they denied me. Claimed the cylinders are 2 different product numbers and thats the reason they wont exchange blue for pink. However, the core price and full price are exactly the same and even the sodastream website offers this type of exchange. I'm going to try again when a local is working, the lady that was there today had no interest in having a conversation about it and wouldnt refer me to a manager to find out if it is a legit standard or her own made up rule. I'm going to keep trying until someone will do the exchange, just a matter of time until someone helps me with this I guess...2 years agoHelpful?
